Douglas J. Baxter
formerly of Windsor, N.Y.
Douglas J. Baxter (Dougie "B"), 52, born December 27, 1951, passed away Saturday evening, December 4, 2004, at home. He was predeceased by his father, Maurice J. Baxter. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Oltz) Baxter; his stepson, Nicholas Oltz, both of Binghamton; his mother, Dorothy (Baxter) Furman and his stepfather, Earl Furman, Windsor, N.Y.; one sister, Linda (Baxter) Etess and her husband, Harvey, Liberty, N.Y.; one niece, Kimberly (Etess) Richardson, Palm Beach, Fla.; a nephew, Chad Etess and his fiancee, Rose Ann Epifania, Liberty, N.Y.; three stepsisters, Cheryl Peet and her husband, Roger, Windsor, N.Y., Lori Conrad and her husband, Dick, Endicott, N.Y., Jill Body and her husband, David, Endicott, N.Y.; two aunts, Ruth B. Lee and Mary Jane Hawley, Binghamton; two cousins, Sherrie Lee Chaplin and her husband, Bruce, Bradenton, Fla., Burt Baxter and his wife, Cathy, Binghamton, N.Y. Doug graduated from Windsor High School. He enjoyed swimming, boating, biking (motorcycles), golfing, fishing, and SCUBA diving. He was a boxer, a biker, a bouncer, taught SCUBA lessons in Hawaii, a car salesman, a Yellow Cab Driver, worked for ABC Liquor in Fla., owned a restaurant (Top Dog), in Windsor, and started a Dry Cleaning business in Windsor and Deposit.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 88 Chapel St., Windsor, with the Rev. Debra Pritts and the Rev. Sherrie Chaplin, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
