Ace Spectrum Visionary R&B Ed (E-Z) Zant Leaves Sweet Memories to Family and Fans
April 27, 2017: Born in 1947 in Harlem NYC, Henry Edward (E-Z/Easy) Zant, son of family matriarch Mary Odom and father Henry Zant, survived turbulent times in the Big Apple, traveled overseas with the US Army, and spent endless hours with his R&B artist compatriots rehearsing their album selections including his original songs. These melodies "overnight" became the hallmark of Atlantic Record's Ace Spectrum vocal group. A charming, creative self-starter in music and business, E-Z leaves behind several albums held in high esteem by aficionados of music with true soul, many who remember him fondly and loved him dearly, including his daughter, Taya Marthea Graham, his sisters Mary Carter and Margaret-Ann Thomas, and nieces and nephews, Bill (Ronnie) Spear, Dawn Johnson, Brent Carter, and Aria Zavocki as well as nephew Brandon Carter and niece Danielle Matthew. E-Z was pre-deceased by his sister Gwendolyn M. Spear. A man who was 6'5" and was larger than life in every sense with a deep resonate voice, a booming laugh and charismatic persona, he captivated attention in every room he entered; he will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

It was an honor to spend every other day with you for two years. I miss you so much...the sunny days when you where singing loud and smiling to the new song happy ..i can see you singing because im happy clap along if you feel like a room without a roof. You took lomgng time to open up to me but once you did i was family and your truly loved and missed. Love always- tricia

I did not know Mr. Zant, however, when I read his obituary I wish I had. What a memorable, brave, talented and easy to love human being he was. His presence will certainly be missed, but remember how fortunate you all were to have him as family and friend. I hope your memories will bring you comfort. God Bless You E-Z.
