Elizabeth (Betty) Winter, 86, of Binghamton N.Y. passed away on August 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Betty is survived by her loving & very devoted husband Alfred Winter Sr. of 68 years of marriage, her daughters Charlotte (Gary) Vargason, Deborah ( Lance) Bogart, her sons, Alfred (Lisa) Winter Jr. and John (Sherry) Winter, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Betty is also survived by her sister Pat Luciano and many nieces & nephews and a dear friend Betty Scribner. Betty is predeceased by her parents Joseph & Florence Darwell, her brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, and Donald Darwell. Betty demonstrated passion for her customers as she owned and operated a Hair Salon locally for many years. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her loving pets. Betty had many talents and hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and making handmade gifts for her family and friends. Betty's family would like to Thank the loving Doctors, Nurses, and Nurses aids at Binghamton General Hospital for their compassionate support and caring of our mother. A very special Thank you to Trish Winter for her unconditional love and support in this trying time. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton . Visitation is at 1pm, followed by a Celebration of her Life at 2pm.
