Frances Smedley Obituary

Frances (Stento) Smedley, formerly of Binghamton, NY and Royal, AR died 11/21/10 in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, AR, following a long and bravely borne illness. She was predeceased by her grandparents Angeladomenica and Frank Stento of Binghamton; Louise and Eugene Credeur of LA; her father Thomas J. Stento, Esq.; and her sister Diane Stento Holton of MA. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Malcolm Smedley of Royal, AR; her mother Blanche Stento of Binghamton, NY; her siblings, Angela, Frank, Mary, Kathy, Tom, Betsy and Robert Stento and their families; her stepchildren, Dr. Julia (Smedley) Page and Dr. Andrew Page, UK, Mark Smedley, UK; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. We all loved her and she will be greatly missed by us all. Frances was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Beaver College (PA) and Ohio University. She worked for Information Builders International as a systems analyst in Holland (Amsterdam) for eight years. She later owned her own business as "Smedley's Consultancy Services" on Contract for IBI at her residence in Arkansas for more than 15 years. Her ashes will be buried in the Stento family plot in Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City at a later date. Any family member or friends wishing to send flowers may do so and send to St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton, where a Memorial Mass will be said for her on Monday at 9:30 a.m. on 12/13/10. Everyone is welcome to attend mass.
