Frederick Simrell Obituary

FREDERICK T. (BUD) SIMRELL
of Conklin
Frederick T. (Bud) Simrell, 85, of Conklin, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2001, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens, Pa. He was born September 18, 1915, in Binghamton. He was predeceased by his mother and father, James H., Sr. and Ruth (Trowbridge) Simrell; and a brother, James H., Jr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Esther (Knoeller); three sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick J. and Joanne, Wells Bridge, N.Y., Richard K. and Carol, Binghamton, Bruce E. and Kathi, Endwell; eleven grandchildren, Wendi and Matt Ludington, Traci, Brian and Lyda, Teresa, James H., Amy and Peter Simrell, Jennifer and Dennis McCann, Martin and Lenthal Drachler, and Ramona Groover; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Edith (Waring) Simrell, Kirkwood, N.Y., Russell and Helen Foland, Alleghany, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Charles Knoeller, Newport News, Va. He was an employee of the DL&W Railroad, retiring in 1965 after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Order of R.R. Telegraphers, and a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church of Binghamton. A funeral and committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Walter D. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Oak Street, Binghamton. Burial will be private in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sullivan Funeral Home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Friends wishing may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 1406 Monroe Street, Endicott, N.Y. 13760, in memory of Frederick (Bud) Simrell.
