John Washak Obituary
Montrose, PA - John R. Washak, 88, of Montrose, PA passed away, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Hospice of The Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, PA. Born December 27, 1929 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Josephine Washak.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars.
John retired from Binghamton Container 1995. He was a member of Antique Automotive Club of America (AACA), and the United Paperworkers International Union.
He enjoyed his antique car shows and loved his 1976 Ford Granada he called "Betsy" He won many awards with his car including a grand national title.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Agatha Washak of Montrose, PA, a daughter, Kathleen Washak, son, Robert Washak (Cathy Bernhardt) of Montrose, PA, also survived by many nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, the significant other of his daughter, David Black, predeceased him.

Services: 4:00 pm Sunday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.
Visitation: 2-4 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
Graveside Service; Monday 11 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Throop, PA.

Aunt Aggie, Kathy and Robert. Am sorry to hear the passing of Uncle Johnny. May God watch over you and your family at this time. Keep hold of his memories to help you this difficult time. I remember when I was a child Uncle Johnny taught me how to play pool. I thought that was the coolest thing. I will keep you in my prayers. Love to all. Rest in peace Uncle Johnny.
