Wunders, John J.

Vestal: John J. Wunders, 90, of Vestal went home to be with the Lord and join his loving wife, Lois on October 10, 2011. He is survived by five sons (and their spouses) , many grandchildren and several great-grand children.

He was a WWII Veteran serving in the South Pacific and a member of the CC Corps. He was a loving, generous, hard-working man who had many friends and will be missed by all. A Funeral Mass will be held for John on Thursday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows, 157 Clark St., Vestal. Burial will take place immediately following at Vestal Park Cemetery.

To the Wunders Family, We were sorry to hear your loss. Your dad was a great neighbor to us. He would have a smile on his face when ever you would see him. I'm glad that we were able to make a visit to him awhile back. He was so happy when we walk into his room. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great man, kind, funny and a heart of gold!!! My girls and I totally loved him!! I have so many wonderful memories of my lil "grumpy" man. I am glad he is at peace now.

I,m very sorry to hear that John passed away. I worked with him a life time ago at the Binghamton University on the night shift. We use to have some great times together.He could always make you laugh if you were having a bad day.
