Joseph M. Juriga
Joseph M. Juriga, 28, of Binghamton, unexpectedly left us on Monday, November 2, 2009. He is survived by his loving family: his parents, Teresa (DeRitis) and Samuel Juriga; brothers, Jonathan and Matthew; sisters, Jessica, Gina and Kathryn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Joe was born on April 9, 1981 in Binghamton and resided in Florida for many years. He is a graduate of Chenango Forks High School and SUNY New Paltz where he graduated summa cum laude. Joe will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, creative talent, curiosity, and love of life. He was usually making people laugh, playing lacrosse, playing/enjoying music, or designing something unique. Over the past few months, Joe was a devoted caregiver to his father while he recovered from a bone marrow transplant. Above all, Joe was a great friend and inspiration to many; he will be missed beyond description.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Joe's life at a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest, NY. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Joe may be made to the American Cancer Society
and/or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Arrangements are by the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY.
