Josephine Pochily
of Endicott
Josephine Pochily, 85, of Endicott, passed away peacefully Friday, August 24, 2007. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony W. Pochily; her parents, Joseph and Stefania Szczepanski; and her brothers, Frank, Edward, Raymond and Steve Szczepanski. She is survived by her beloved daughter and spouse, Dolores and William Gorgol, Clermont, Fla.; two devoted sons and a spouse, Joseph Pochily, Athens, N.Y., Michael and Susan Pochily, Richford, N.Y.; three beloved grandchildren and spouses, Renee and Wayne Varga, Timothy Gorgol and Thomas and Lori Gorgol; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Carter and Camryn Varga; a loving sister and spouse, Alice and Herb Spach, Deposit, N.Y.; two brothers and spouses, Stanley and Marlis Szczepanski, Payson, Ariz., Theodore and Ann Szczepanski, Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott. Josephine was a remarkable lady that gave much love to her family and community. She provided lifelong care to her beloved brother and owner of Airport Florist, Frank Szczepanski. She loved her work at Airport Florist and always had a smile and kind words for all of the customers. The family extends special thanks to Broome Oncology for their wonderful care and support during her illness.
Josephine requested that in lieu of any services, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society at 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760; or to Lourdes Hospice Unit at 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. It was Josephine's wish that there be no calling hours or funeral service at Laskowski Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements and services by:
