Julian Grier Obituary
Binghamton: Julian "Bud" Grier (Ret. U.S. Army Lt. Col.) 80, passed away peacefully on the last day of summer at Lourdes Hospital on September 21st. He was predeceased by his parents John & Wilma Grier, his sister June Gleason and feline companion Brat Cat. He will be missed by his children, son Daniel of Binghamton & daughter Dawn, son-in-law Robert Shiner, Robert Jr.& Christopher of Sunnyvale, CA, grandchildren Sarah, Lauren, & great grandson Riely. Bud would be happy to be remembered for being a devoted Dad to his children and having lived a long and engaging life. He spent his early childhood in Smithville Flats, New York before his family moved to Binghamton. He attended local schools, raised a family and served his country for 30 years in the US Army Reserve. He was a voracious listener of the world news, loved watching his Sony TV, was an avid golfer and enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable garden. He loved spending time in Florida and his trips to visit his daughter's family in California. In keeping with his wishes there will be no service. Dad, our arms will forever reach to heaven to hold you. In our Dad's memory, a lover of animals and caretaker to every stray that came to his door a donation to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton NY 13902-2153 would be appreciated. God bless you all. Bud was a wonderful "PEEPOP" to his 2 grand children and we were so blessed to have him be able to see his Great Grandson. Before his passing. Rest in peace. Go tell my dad hello for me.
