Lucas Cady Obituary
Vestal - Lucas John Cady of Vestal, died peacefully at home on July 13, 2021, at the age of 30. Luke was predeceased by his grandparents Arvine and Peg Cady, and Herman and Marie Ehntholt; uncles Jerry Cady and Dale Evans, and an aunt, Joanne Ehntholt Papke. Luke is survived by his loving, heartbroken parents, Ray and Janet Cady, his sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Drew Hust, his nieces and nephew Cadence, Cora and Samuel. Luke is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his faithful, four-legged companion, Sadie.
Luke, from the age of 4, held a NYS Lifetime Hunting and Fishing license, not often missing any opportunity to be in nature, on an opening day. Alaska bear hunt, snow geese in S. Dakota, and snow shoe hares in the Adirondacks are some of the experiences Ray and Luke shared over the years. Ray's dream was to have Luke carry on the multigenerational construction trade, that Luke was learning. Luke showed others his kind heart in many ways. Luke would often show up with food or drinks to share, a bouquet of flowers, or gifts for the kids. He was always just a phone call away from anyone who needed him, and he never turned down a chance to lend a hand.

I am so sorry for your loss and I´m sorry for my delayed response. I had the pleasure of meeting Luke a little over a year ago. In the short time I had the opportunity to get to know him, I found him to be a very special person and friend. I´ll miss him and remember him forever! Please know my thoughts have been with all of you despite not knowing you and I will continue to think of each of you every time I think of him.

To the Cady family, the sorrow you must feel cannot be measured with words and no one can change what God has arranged. Luke and I went to school together since maybe first grade. We had some banter as elementary school kids but in high school I always remember thinking that he turned into a kind, gentle guy. I am so so sorry for your loss - my heart is broken. I believe in a God who is weeping with you. I pray that Jesus would be so real to your family in this time.

No words can be said to take your pain away. My heart goes out to you and your family at this very sad time. I met Lucas one time when we were visiting his grandma Peg at Marsha´s house and I´m glad I had the opportunity. It is never easy to be the ones left behind.
