Mary Baumann Obituary
Johnson City - Mary "Sheila" Baumann passed away peacefully at the age of 86 from a terminal illness at the Mercy House in Endicott, NY on Friday, December 11th, 2020. Born in London, England, Sheila was the daughter of Nan and Stephen Bowen. At the early age of 18, Sheila embarked on a journey around the world. Her first stop was the United States. It was here where she met her husband of 63 years, became a US citizen and placed her remaining travel plans on hold to raise her family in Vestal, NY. Sheila is survived by her loving husband William, and her sons Carl (Sharon) and Gregg (Dava) and her grandchildren: Lindsey and her husband Tom, Brad, Jenny, Maya, and Leydi. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Alyssa Beck Baumann. Throughout her life Sheila loved animals both small and large and was extremely fond of her Welsh Corgis and recent rescue dog Meisha. Sheila will always be remembered for her love, laughter and British accent and sayings that she shared with family, friends and strangers. Sheila and her family would like to sincerely thank the Hospice and Mercy House teams for their unwavering assistance, care, support and love as she made her final journey. A memorial service for Sheila will be held at a future date in 2021. Those who wish to remember Sheila in a special way may donate in her memory to Mercy House, 212 North McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
