Mary (Solak) Sinicki, 97, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday evening, February 6, 2010, at Ideal Senior Living Center. Predeceased by her husband, Anthony Sinicki; brothers, John and Andrew Solak; sister, Ann Wylam; and daughter-in-law, Sonya Sinicki. She is survived by two daughters, Rosine (Al) Renken, and Maureen Sinicki; two sons, Robert (Judy) Sinicki and Richard Sinicki; nine grandchildren, Robert Renken, Cheryl Dorfman, Bruce Renken, Mary Kay Holthus, Laurie Burgess, Michael Sinicki, Jessica Deckard, Debra Rufo, and Leane Sinicki; seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Julie Bellnier and Mrs. Joseph (Kathryn) Macko; two sisters-in-law, Sophie Gaska and Mary K. Sinicki; nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of the G.A.F. Corporation, Binghamton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9 a.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton, where a Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Wednesday 3 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Wednesday 3-6 p.m. Contributions may be made in Mary's memory to either St. Michael's Church or to the S.A.S. Cancer Research Foundation. Mary's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Ideal Assisted Living Center for their special care.
