Michael P. Letkiewicz, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter L. Sr. and Josephine Letkiewicz; and a brother, Walter L. Letkiewicz, Jr. He is survived by a sister, Florence Longo, New Milford, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Helen Letkiewicz, Binghamton; six nephews, Peter and Walter Letkiewicz, Nick, Gary, Dan and Mark Longo. Michael was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was born on March 17, 1928 in Dickson City, Pa. and graduated from Dickson City High School, where he played both offense and defense on the high school football team. After attending Scranton Penn State University, he moved to Detroit where he worked in the auto industry as a tool and die maker. He moved to the Binghamton area in the '60's and worked for the IBM Corp. for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, who upon his retirement, spent much of his time involved with fine woodworking and stained glass.
A Funeral Service will be held at Laskowski Funeral Home on Friday, June 20, at 9:00 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Laskowski Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Arrangements and Supervision by:
