Mildred Freeman Obituary

Mildred C. Freeman
of Great Bend, Pa.
Mildred C. Freeman, 91, of Great Bend, Pa., passed away January 1, 2006, at Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility, Susquehanna, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband, Thornton Freeman, in 1992; and by her sisters, Rita and Claire. Millie is survived by two sons, Michael T. and Joan Freeman, Conklin, N.Y., and Christopher V. Freeman, Great Bend, Pa.; two granddaughters, Theresa Sanfillipo and Julia Pearson; three great-grandchildren, Lorraine, Nathan and Stacy; and one great-great-granddaughter, Alexis. "Aunt Ti-Ti" was adored by many, including her devoted niece and nephew, Rita and Bernie Orapollo and Bud and Diane Stiles. She is also survived by in-laws, Paul and Jessie Reed, Hulda O'Neil; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends. Mildred was a member of St. Lawrence Church and was a longtime resident of Great Bend, Pa. She was an Auxiliary member of the VFW and was a former teller for Peoples National Bank. She was a compassionate and helpful friend to many who went before her and was like a second mother and grandmother to three generations of "kids." The family wishes to give special thanks to Jane Englehart, Pat Derrick, Dr. Remakus, and the staff at Barnes-Kasson SNF for their special care during the past few years.
Funeral services will be held at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Avenue, Hallstead, Pa., on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 9:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, Great Bend, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by the Reverend Joseph S. Sitko. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Great Bend, Pa. The family will receive callers from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility, 400 Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, Pa. 18847.
