Robert Anderson Obituary
of Norwich
Robert A. Anderson, 81, a well-known former area car dealer, passed away peacefully late Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Chenango Memorial Hospital. Bob was born in Johnson City, N.Y. on May 18, 1926. He was the son of the late Alfred and Leona (Horton) Anderson. Bob served in the US Navy aboard the USS John Hood during World War II. On December 4, 1948 in Johnson City, Bob married Julia "Judy" Zayac Anderson of Norwich, who survives. Bob is also survived by his children and their spouses, Cathleen Brown, San Antonio, Tex., Peter and Faye Anderson, Norwich, Lori and Jeff DeAngelo, Binghamton, and Margaret Proskine, Norwich; ten grandchildren, Erica Klein, Scott Miller, Stefanie Jenkins, Sara and Lindsay Anderson, Katherine, Jacqueline and James Freeman, Rachel DeAngelo and Emily Proskine; four great-grandchildren, Cade, Klein, Jalen and Jacob Jenkins; and a cousin, Betty Barnhart, Binghamton.
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Norwich. Rev. Glenn Mahaffey, Rector, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y. 13220-3049. Peter, Cathy, Lori and Margaret,
My brother, Warren, and I were close friends of "Andy" during grade school, high school and the JC American Legion drum/bugle corps. We also dated Judy before WWII and never lost touch with Andy & Judy. I saw Andy at the Norwich Hospital last October. I think that I am the only old friend left. Fred

Dear Judy, Peter & Family,
Sincere condolences on Bob's passing. I always enjoyed seeing Bob through the years, including after my Dad passed in 2000, as we both shared a passion for the auto business.
