Robert H. Rose
of Silver Lake, Pa.
Robert H. Rose, 78, of Silver Lake, Pa., passed away suddenly Tuesday night, February 8, 2005, at Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Rose. He is survived by six children: four daughters, and three sons-in-law, Sharon and Richard Antol, Laurie and Patrick Leach, Debbie Rose, Terese and Jerry Hammer; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Yvonne Rose, Christopher Rose; one sister, Jane (Rose) Dourghty; one brother, Edward Rose; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Haley, Barbara and Terry Cribbs; one brother-in-law, Patrick and Anne Haley. He liked being called "Grandpa Bob" by his nine grandchildren, Jason, Yvette, Bridget, Hutch, Patrick, Jared, Haley, Connor and Sheena. Robert owned and worked for Rose Unit Auto Parts for over 30 years, as well as Robert H. Rose Construction for 27 years. He was a proud WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theatre in combat in Germany with the 29th Infantry Division. Robert will remain a hero in all of our hearts as we mourn the loss of a wonderful father and special friend. He will be missed by everyone, including his little dog, "Buddie," and will be remembered his love of animals, the outdoors and the solitude of nature he found at Silver Lake.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2005, at St. Andrews Church, with Rev. Michael T. Meagher officiating. The family will receive friends at Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave., Binghamton on Friday the 11th from 3 to 5 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
