Binghamton - Stella ( Ebovicz) Kutney Hohn, 93, of Binghamton died peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Susquehanna Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her parents, Jan and Julia Ebovicz (Ibowicz); her husbands, Stephen J Kutney (1978) and Floyd Hohn (2014); siblings, Max Dzuibek, Walt Ibowicz, Bennie and John Ebovicz, Jennie Miner and Virginia Srnka. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. Stella was a waitress since the age of 16. She loved her job especially working at Little Venice for 20 years. Kindergarten students from Thomas Jefferson School affectionately called her "grandma" as part of the Foster Grandparent program. During the summer you would find her picking whatever berry was in season. With her bounty, she would bake incredibly delicious pies. At Christmastime, Stella and her husband, Steve, brought happiness to many families by selling Christmas trees at the corner of Seminary Ave. and Walnut Street. She retired at age 84 and married Floyd. She is survived by her sons Stephen and Charles Kutney, daughters Sarah (Dr. William G.) Patrick and Mary Kutney; grandchildren, Stephen and Colleen Kutney, Meghan (Joshua) Henderson, Katherine (Matthew Arnold) Patrick, Christina (Ethan) Young, Elizabeth and William D. Patrick, Carly and Benjamin Kutney, Augustin (Jamie Becker) Guley; great-grandson, Julian Trucks Kutney; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 20th at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
