Agustin Nieto Obituary

Agustin Nieto
October 1958 - October 2022
Agustin Nieto, born in Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully at home of cancer on October 1, 2022. He was 63. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Silvano Nieto Arreguin, mother, Esperanza Flores Nieto, and brother, Rafael Nieto.
Agustin was a native of Sonoma County attending Healdsburg High and Cardinal Newman (1977) and went on to join the Marines. He was a proud Reconnaissance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Agustin was a natural athlete and a fast runner which carried onto his children. Many friends will remember his athleticism, fun and daring personality. He always had an opinion on any subject and could tell you all about UFOs. Agustin enjoyed spending time with his children whether it was going on hikes, bike rides, playing tennis, or helping with whatever project they were working on. He also enjoyed taking them out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Cattlemens. Agustin was also very fond of his family at Manzana, where he worked the past ten years. He was usually the first person to arrive in the morning with his cup of coffee and newspaper. Many coworkers considered him the patriarch of Manzana and a fun loving but disciplined individual. He was known for his memorable personality, work ethic, and his genuine care for others. They would say once he had finished his responsibilities, he would move on and help others. Agustin enjoyed each day and was grateful for what he had. Agustin was proud to be sober for over 15 years. He truly cared about the people around him and let them know before he left this earth. We love you and will miss you greatly.
He is survived by his five children: Danielle Riggle (Kyle), Justin Nieto (Zillah), Vanessa Bishop (Rob), Shelby Nieto (Arturo), Tianha Taylor Nieto, and ex-wife, Diana Nieto. Loving to eight grandchildren. Loving brother to Guadalupe Nieto Hedrick (Winthrop), Raquel Nieto, John Nieto (Charlene), Edward Nieto (Teri), Rebecca Nieto-Casciani (Jim), Eva Nieto (Jose), and Esperanza "Patty" Nieto.
Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 208 Matheson St., Healdsburg. Visitation from 4-7:00 p.m. followed by rosary service Friday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial services at the Windsor Shiloh Cemetery. Reception following at Mary Agatha Furth Center, 8400 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor.
The family suggests memorial contributions in his name to your favorite charity.

I just saw this obituary... Hate hearing Augie passed on. He was a friend when we were in elementary school in Windsor. And was happy to see him come to high school at Newman. He was a very fast kid. Always so friendly and funny. Proud to see he served in the Marines. Seeing this made those memories flood in. So sorry for your families' loss!
