Ann Hollis Obituary

Born August 21, 1932, Ann died peacefully in her Santa Rosa home on November 6, 2025. Born in Liverpool, England to parents, Charles Victor Worswick and Lilian Ah-foo Worswick. She was one of seven children, and the last to survive. Ann received a scholarship for advanced education at the Holly Lodge Institute for Girls, Liverpool. In 1956 at the age of 23, she set out alone across the Atlantic on a ship for America bringing only her Lancashire sense of humor. Ann immediately made her way to California in search of warm sunshine and eventually became a United States Citizen in 1961, residing in Fresno, California.
She was employed as a draftsperson for Bell Telephone, and worked as an administrative assistant for Western Bank, and Vangas Corporation.
Enjoying knitting as a child, Ann soon became an expert. Over the years, she was a five times Best of Show knitter at the Sonoma County Fair. In addition, as an accomplished oil paint artist, her entries won numerous blue ribbons at the Sonoma County Fair. She didn't enter her preserves or baking specialties, however, at home they were a delight to all.
Ann undeniably lived a perfect life and found immense joy being around her husband and kids. She truly loved being a mother and showed that with everything she did for her children. Growing up the kids always had a tasty homemade sack lunch and warm jacket she would put in the dryer 5 minutes before walking out the front door for school on cold mornings. Old stories floated amongst the kids when she would allow them to skip the beginning of school and go get McDonalds pancakes instead so she could have more time with them. She never missed a detail when putting a little extra love into doing something for the people she cared about.
Ann is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Bill Hollis; survived by son, Peter Wayne Brawley (Cindy & Son Darryl); daughter, Pamela Brawley Monroe (Tom); daughter, Amanda Hollis Reyes (Ryan); son, Matthew Geoffrey Hollis; grand-daughters, Makena Rees Reyes & Shea Lily Reyes; and niece, Ann Kobus (Colin) of Lyme Regis, England. Predeceased by daughter, Melanie Hollis.
Private inurnment will be at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park. A celebration of life for close family and friends to be announced.
