Carolyn Kabanuck
February 2, 1948 - February 3, 2024
Carolyn Marie Kabanuck passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024 at the age of 76, surrounded by family. Carolyn was born in San Francisco, California on February 2, 1948, to parents Dorothy and Joseph and later moved with her family to San Rafael, California. Carolyn graduated from Terra Linda High School in 1966 and went on to work for the FBI and CHP before meeting her loving husband of 53 years, Glenn Kabanuck. Carolyn and her family moved to Sonoma, California, and later settled in Petaluma, California where she worked for over 18 years at St. Vincents High School, Miwok Elementary School, and La Tercera Elementary School. She was the loving mother to five children, Mick, Matt, Mandy, Nathan, and Angela and devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren, including Jacob, Lucas, Marcus, Myles, Jackson, and Dorothy. Carolyn loved the outdoors and often visited Dunsmuir, Mount Shasta, and the California coast. She also spent summers at her family cabin in Guerneville and enjoyed walks through Armstrong Woods. Carolyn loved animals, particularly her dogs and cats, as well as her bird Kermit. The loss of Carolyn is devastating to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Carolyn will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Providence Hospice of Petaluma.

My precious friend Carolyn, Our relationship spanned decades. You and Glenn were the best friends anyone could ask for. The times you shared with me and Marilou, Warren and Chris Wright and a close group of friends, will live forever in my memory. My deepest condolences to your wonderful family and the love of your life Glenn. I know you are with Marilou now catching up on the years and sharing laughs. We shall meet again one day my dear. May God watch over you.

I was so sad to learn of Carolyn's death. I send my most heartfelt condolences to her family. I met Carolyn when I started working at Miwok Elementary School back in 2000 and she was manning the office. She was a very nice, friendly and sweet person. Rest in peace dear Carolyn.
