Dale was one of the most competitive people I knew. He was an excellent golfer and athlete. I have attended a few of his son Devin's baseball games and sat next to Dale for a few of them, and he was so proud to see Devin pitching. His family and friends in the San Jose area will miss him.

My memories of Dale go back 42 years when we went to Madrone Elementary. Dale (and Curtis) would play basketball with my brother, Gary, and the other neighborhood boys. Dale and the "Walton" kids were some of the first to welcome us to the neighborhood. My last encounter with Dale was when I ran into him at a coffee shop in San Jose around 1976. He was cordial and pleasant...... as always.
Mary, Curtis, and Colleen, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Dale has a special place in my memory.
I enjoyed the many hours we spent together on the ball fields of Sonoma County as school kids.
I knew him to be an honest, kind, and decent human being. I admired his inner drive and passion for the things and people he cared about.
