Claire Caletti Borges, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away August 2, 2024, at the age of 88. Claire was born November 29, 1935, in San Rafael, CA to Carlo and Helen Caletti and graduated from San Rafael High School, and then attended San Jose State College where she received a degree in elementary education. Claire met her future husband, Stanley, at college and their 65-year marriage began on January 24, 1959.
Claire and Stan started their early married life in San Rafael with their three sons and later moved to Santa Rosa which they called home for 50-plus years. Since 1983, Claire was a volunteer, board member, and president at the Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, and a lifetime member of the Santa Rosa Symphony League. She participated in the Sonoma County Panhellenic Society for many years, kept herself active playing tennis at La Cantera Raquet Club, and spent many hours tending to her beautiful garden. She was a lifetime fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants, and no one would ever call her a "fair-weather fan"!
Claire was deeply committed to her Santa Rosa community, but her greatest love and commitment was to her family. Family vacations to Carmel and Napili Point, Maui were always a favorite and are a source of many fond memories. Holiday gatherings and family meals that included the famous family risotto recipe, raviolis from Molinari's, and mountains of food that fed all for days afterwards were always a highlight. Claire truly expressed her love for her family on these occasions.
Claire is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley, her three sons Robert (Amy), Charles (Sharon), David (Jeannette), her sister Carolyn Pitcher (Dave), seven much-loved grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many long-time friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Carlo and Helen Caletti, and by her brother, Richard Caletti.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. A memorial service to celebrate Claire's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Daniels Chapel of the Roses. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be mailed to the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, 100 Santa Rosa Avenue, RM 10, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.

We are so saddened to hear of Claire´s passing. We always looked forward each year to seeing Stan and Claire in Maui and watching so many beautiful sunsets with them. She will be greatly missed.

Claire was such a nice person to talk with at "The Point" at the end of each day, sharing the days events. We'll miss her smiling face and warm manner.

We will miss Claire! So many good memories of reconnecting each January on Maui. We always just started up where we left off the year before! Daily sunset is a big event at Napili and Claire was a special member of our o´hana. I will miss her humor, our domino games, lunch at the Burger Shak, and her warm smile.

We are so saddened to hear of Claire´s passing. We will so miss her stories she shared nightly with our Napili Point Ohana at sunset and as we enjoyed lunch together at the Kapalua Burger Shack. Our thoughts and prayers are with Stan and the family.

So sorry to hear of Claire's passing, Stan! Bill and I treasure the times we spent together as neighbours and friends at Napili Point each winter, and our fun brunches at the Sea House! We are so grateful to have met you both and shared many special times and stories over the years.
