Connie was born in Arcata, CA, on April 20, 1949 (born Constance Lou Piersall), and spent her early years in Eureka until age 13. In 1962, her family relocated to Grover City, CA, where she lived through young adulthood. After moving to Santa Rosa, she met and married the love of her life in 1969, and together they raised two daughters.

Connie passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dennis Capo, who passed in 2021. Connie is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Angela Capo Persinger (Alexis) and Denise Capo Olliffe (Michael), as well as her four cherished grandchildren: Adrian Olliffe, Aidan Persinger, Ian Olliffe, and Adam Persinger.

She will always be remembered for her nurturing spirit and deep commitment to philanthropy. Connie's life was defined by helping others with an open and generous heart. Over the years, many came to see her as a surrogate mother, as her boundless compassion made room for everyone. She was the truest kind of friend, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved boundlessly.

Connie was a lifelong voracious reader and history buff, with Steinbeck's fiction The Grapes of Wrath being her favorite novel. An ace at games, she was known to ruthlessly defeat anyone in Scrabble, cards, Words with Friends, and more. Her garden was her sanctuary, and the pride she took in her home was unmistakable the moment you stepped through the door.

During the late 1970s through the 1990s, Connie enjoyed a successful career in banking. In the 1980s, she managed the Auditing and Mastercard Departments at Exchange Bank in downtown Santa Rosa. Known for her stellar reputation and unwavering ethics, she was recruited to serve as Vice President of the former Redwood Bank in San Rafael, CA, where she worked until her retirement in the mid-1990s. Throughout her career, she was admired for her kind leadership and dedication to helping others reach their full potential - maintaining lifelong friendships with many of her colleagues.

She was a legendary grandmother of four - who dedicated herself to their happiness. She was tirelessly patient, loving, and nurturing with them, making sure that her home was theirs. And they will never stop feeling her everlasting love and presence.

Connie (and Dennis) were members of the Redwood Empire Classic Chevy Club for 16 years, where they shared many road adventures together in their '56 Chevy Bel Air, while listening to the classic tunes of 50s & 60s. They developed several friendships with this amazing group of people that Connie & Dennis valued.

As a valiant Polycystic Kidney Disease survivor, she had received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2006 after 4-years on dialysis. The transplant was a gift that provided her with 18 additional years of life that she and her family were immeasurably grateful for.

The family requests donations to the Redwood Empire Food Bank in lieu of flowers if you would like to donate in Connie's name.
