Donald PETERSEN Obituary
Loving father of Cheryl (Chris) Carter, of Sebastopol, CA and Jennifer (the late John) Rhodes of Murray, KY. Loving grandfather of Mikayla and Trevor Rhodes of Murray, KY. Devoted friend of ex-wife and best friend, Sandy Petersen, who cared for him in his final months. Loving brother of Allen (Sherry) Petersen of Green Valley, AZ, William (Diane) Petersen, Gary (Louise) Petersen, Joyce Petersen, Melvin (Karen) Petersen, Lynn Petersen, Adele (Leo) Barclay and Susan (Gary) Lawlor, all of Sebastopol, CA. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donald was a third generation Sonoma County farmer. He graduated from Petaluma High School and studied business at Santa Rosa Junior College. He was a top basketball athlete. He served in the 579th Unit of California National Guard.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hessel Church, 5060 Hessel Ave., Sebastopol, CA. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Memorial Hospice, 439 College Ave. Santa Rosa, CA 95401.

Don you are now in a better place where there is no pain or stress. You were such a loving father,and grandfather to Mikayla and Trevor. You will be forever remembered with respect and love. We will all miss your smile and positive outlook on life. You were such a good friend to my son Paul Ferretti, he will miss you forever. We will all miss Don greatly. He volunteered as a Board Member for the RCD for 32 years and was always encouraging, helpful, kind and generous. We extend our most sincere condolences to his family. Don is greatly valued and dearly missed.
