RIDENOUR, Donald R. Don Passed away February 8, 2003 in Rohnert Park at the ate of 68. Loving husband of Doralene Ridenour of Rohnert Park. Loving father of Donna Lee Smith, Anita Daniel, Dale Ridenour all of Rohnert Park and Michael Ridenour of Petaluma. Loving father-in-law of Don Smith of Rohnert Park and Trish Ridenour of Petaluma. Cherished grandfather of Kasey Tuermen of Santa Rosa; Jeri Tuermen of Windsor; Spencer Daniel and Sarah Daniel of Santa Rosa; and Courtney Ridenour, Ashley Ridenour, and Madison Ridenour of Petaluma. Dear brother of Freida (J.D.) Nold, Troy Ridenour, Ted (Eloise) Ridenour, Leverett (Pam) Ridenour, and Mick (Debbie) Ridenour. Loving brother-in-law of Clinton (Darlene) Gibson, Jack (Shirley) Gibson, John (Karen) Gibson, Jim (Linda) Gibson, and the late Morton Gibson, Bobby Gibson, and Jerry Don Gibson. Son of the late Edna and Horace Ridenour. Son-in-law of the late Katherine and Morton Gibson. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Don was born in Wyandott, OK and moved to Shasta County, CA at the age of 1, and moved to Sonoma County in 1953. He married Doralene Gibson also in 1953. He graduated from Petaluma Adult School in the late 1970s. For most of Don’s life, he worked in the tire industry and spent 19 years at General Tire & Rubber Co. He also managed S.C.S. Fencing for 10 years. After retirement, he worked for Hertz as the Lead Hiker, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Don had a passion for cars and mechanics. He always made sure his children had well running vehicles. He was currently in the process of restoring a 1953 Chevy pick-up. He also loved to garden. Don’s most enjoyable hobby was spending time with his grandchildren. Family always came first with him. He never met a stranger; he made friends wherever he went. Don was a member and past president of the Petaluma Optomist Club. He was also very active as a youth sports coaching assistant with his good friends Gilbert and Dallas. His most recent wish was to donate time to Kaiser Hospital greeting people and helping patients. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Don’s Life on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Alliance Church, 301 Fulton Road, Santa Rosa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to Sutter VNA & Hospice, 1110 N. Dutton Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401-4606 or to your favorite charity. Arrangements made by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Ave. and Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA.
