Fred Adair Obituary

Fred Burl Adair, Jr. died on March 22, 2012, a resident of Santa Rosa, he was 85. Fred was born in Stroud, OK where he lived and worked on a farm with his parents and his sister Dorothy. In 1943, Fred enlisted in the army and served in World War II. He later served as a Captain in the army reserve stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. In the late fifties, Fred worked in radio as a broadcaster and as an actor and playwright. Fred was an active member of the Bohemian Club during the early 60s. In the late 60s, Fred had the opportunity to move to New York where he formed a sound engineering company making English sound tracks for foreign movies. In his later life, Fred was a businessman and entrepreneur. One of his businesses had offices in New York City, London, Athens and Sydney, Australia. Fred often commented on his gratitude and good fortune to have travelled the world. Fred was a lover of music, golf, books, good friends and his family. He will be dearly missed. Fred is survived by his partner, Susan Boak; three of his four sons, Chris, Rob and Ric; his sister, Dorothy Marty; grandchildren, Ian, Laura and Lucas, and his niece and nephews and their children. The family invites friends to join them for a celebration of Fred's life at a later date; details to be announced. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel Mission Cremation Service 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA.

I enjoyed knowing Fred. Very nice man. I Will remember his story telling about his adventures. He will be missed.
