We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jared at his home in Napa. He was only 42 years old.
Jared was born in Novato on March 12, 1982, to Merilee Guillory and Aaron Crocker. He grew up in Marin County and attended special education classes there. Jared moved to Napa as a young teenager, attending Redwood Middle School and graduating from Napa High. Jared lived with Patty Saunders and John Shea at their family care home. He loved living in the country with all the "action" that a big family provides. He enjoyed being outside, swimming, trips to Disneyland and to the cabin in Lake Tahoe. He loved his trips to Hawaii. Jared enjoyed playing challenger baseball and riding horses at Equi-Ed for over 25 years.
Jared is best known for his love of loud music, epic snacking, people watching, and holding hands. He loved being out in the community watching the cars and waving at everyone. He enjoyed eating out and was somewhat of a galloping gourmet.
For the last nine years, Jared was supported by Bayberry, Inc. to live in his own home in Napa. The family would like to thank Teresa DeGraffenreid and Michael Hernandez for managing his care, as well as all the current and past staff members who assisted Jared daily in doing the things that made him happy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bayberry, Inc., or Napa Valley Support Services.
Jared leaves behind his mother Merilee Guillory and his father Aaron Crocker; his sister Amanda Friedman (Manual Borba); his brother Jesse Crocker (Kasi Crocker); his nephews Elkin Crocker and Kevin Mackay, and his niece Kaitlyn Mackay.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the home of Patty Saunders and John Shea, 1571 McKinley Road in Napa. We hope that all of Jared's friends can join us.
