Jean Dowdey Obituary
April 21, 1929 - September 19, 2024
Born in Portland, Oregon, Jean lived in Oregon, Idaho and California. Jean attended San Francisco State where she met her husband Lynn. They were married in 1954 and celebrated 57 years together. They moved to Novato, CA n 1964. Lynn was a musician and teacher. Jean was a Primary School teacher, Editor and Musician's wife. Their marriage was full of love, laughter, and a commitment to face challenges together. They loved travelling, attended concerts, parties, and especially loved their family and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Lynn (2011). She is survived by her son Steve (Noreen) Dowdey and daughter Carol Mauldin. She has 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Holly), Kevin, (Sarah), Rebecca (Matthew), Morgan, and Cassie (Colin). She has 7 great grandchildren Evan, Noah, Caleb, Katie, Miles, Mara and Maxwell. She also has many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
Celebration of Life will be Sat November 2, 11:30 a.m. at Christian Family Fellowship Church, 1160 A Hopper Ave, Santa Rosa, CA.

I spent a delightful weekend with Jean about ten years ago. We drove all around the Georgetown area, visited Gold Discovery Park and talked for hours. I loved her gentle laughter and will always remember her true joy in life.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Jean´s family.
