Jill Marge Beatty passed away at her residence on October 25, 2025, at the age of 80. Born to Walter and Julia Lorson on July 14, 1945, in Spokane, Washington. When Jill was young, her family moved to Klamath, CA. She attended and graduated from Del Norte High School in Crescent City. It was there that Jill met a young man named Chuck Beatty, who would become her husband of 61 years. While a senior in high school, Jill competed in pageants and was awarded the title of Miss Eureka 1963 and placed runner up in the 1963 Miss California pageant.
Upon graduating, Jill attended the Humboldt Business College and worked professionally as a teacher at Strawberry Elementary School and Yulupa Elementary School with students who needed extra help with reading, math, and helped with those who spoke English as a second language. Mrs. Beatty was a favorite of so many students over the years.
Jill and Chuck raised two children, John and Jennifer. The family spent many weekends away competing in soccer tournaments. Her family reflects on Jill's ability to turn any small event into a big celebration, with plenty of food to go around. Jill loved celebrating the holidays and always found a way to make each one memorable. She loved all the decorating and planning which went into each event. Through her Italian heritage, she learned to always have enough food for everyone to take leftovers home at any family function. Jill also had a way of taking care of everyone. She made sure all knew they were welcome and put everyone before herself, asking for nothing in return.
Jill is survived by her loving husband Chuck Beatty, children, John Beatty and Jennifer Harbaugh (Brian), grandchildren, Erica, Ashley, Adam, Bradley and Emily, and four great-grandchildren.
