John was certainly a long-time fixture at the Hall of Justice. He was our bailiff for many years. He was smart, engaging, and always had his nose in a book. He regaled us with many stories of Russian River history. I remember him speaking very fondly of his sons. What a full life he had! Rest In Peace

I remember racing through Pocket Canyon with John and his army jeep with my full body hanging out the side the jeep to counter balance the momentum as we went around the hair pin curbs so we wouldn't tip over. He was always testing the limits of his beloved jeep. When ever you saw the jeep, you knew he was near by. He was a pleasure to know and one of the nicest endearing people I ever met. I will always remember you John as one of the highlights of my life.

John was so funny and such a good friend. I met him the first day on the job with the courts with one of his practical jokes. He was inspiring and so full of life.

It's a sad day when you read about the passing of John Schubert. He had such a zest for life with his big personality and his ability to make you laugh! I had the pleasure of working with John at the courts, as well as with Sarah. My condolences to Sara and John's family because I know he will be truly missed. By the way, that is a beautiful picture of John!

John was a great friend and a wonderful Guy to work with. I met him when I was just out of High School, never imagined we would be long time co workers and share his love of Sonoma County History. He was such an interesting guy, and cared deeply for his friends and coworkers in the courts, and in Sheriffs Courts Security operations. We had some great talks, and John was simply the most knowledgeable people in the field of Sonoma County History I ever knew. Not to mention his railroad world! he will be missed. Rest easy my brother, We will ride the celestial rails together one day!

We knew John when he was Bailiff in SoCo Muni court. He was very close friends with my mother who was secretary to the judges. He was so kind and knowledgeable on many subjects. RIP old friend.
