John Garabed Terzian

TERZIAN, John Garabed Long time Petaluma resident, John Terzian, passed away at home on July 31, 2001. He was the husband of Georgia Terzian, and father of Charlie (Cynthia) Terzian and Evelyn Terzian. Grandfather of Stacey Terzian and Ryan Terzian. John was born in Khartert, Armenia in 1914. The family immigrated to the United States in 1916 after the holocaust in Turkey, and settled in Boston. In 1933 he married Georgia Angelolupos and started raising a family. In 1958 the Terzian family moved to California and in 1961 they moved again but for the last time, to Petaluma. John and Georgia bought the old Southwick’s Shoe Store, changed the name to Wide World of Shoes, and ran a successful business for 26 years. He was a member of the BPOE Petaluma Elk’s Lodge #901 and the S.I.R.S. Survivor of the Armenian genocide of 1915. At the family’s request, no service will be held.
