Kareen Rosemarie Kobler THOMAS

Our loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt passed away August 6, 2014 in San Francisco, California. Kareen was born April 7, 1961, in Caracas, Venezuela, South America to Helmut G. Kobler and Catherine Patricia Gallagher. Her early years were spent in Venezuela, Canada, Chile, New York and New Jersey. Her father's employ-ment also took her to England, Israel, and the Dominican Republic. She came to San Francisco after high school and soon met Bradley Thomas, whom she married in 1988 in San Francisco. She loved little children and worked with pre-school children in various teaching roles. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her, and she wanted to be involved in their many activities as they were growing up. She will be remembered as their "quirky" and loving aunt who dressed them up and showed them the sights in San Francisco. Kareen is survived by her husband Bradley Thomas of San Francisco; her mother Catherine of San Francisco; brothers Michael H. (Debbie), Otto B. (Barbara), both of Santa Rosa; Joseph A. (Janice) of San Francisco; Helmut E. (Laura) of Los Angeles; also her step-mother Nancy Shields Kobler of Santa Rosa; and her nieces Jana, Lillie, Megan and Athena Kobler; and nephews Brian, Michael and Karl Kobler. She was preceded in death by her father, Helmut G. Kobler. May she rest in Peace. A Funeral Mass will be said at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at St. Eugene's Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Burial will be at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
