Keith Crownover Obituary

Lovingly survived by his wife of 45 years, Lori Crownover (McNamee); son, Chris (McKenzie) Crownover, grandsons, Ethan, Gavin and Dylan; daughter, Shaylyn (Chris) Johansson (Crownover), granddaughter, Aubrey and grandson, Tristan; siblings, twin brother, Ken (Shelly) Crownover; sister, Laura (Jerry) Enfield (Crownover); and eldest brother, Glen Jr. (Marguerite) Crownover.
Keith was born in Santa Rosa, CA., ten minutes after his twin brother, Ken. Keith started working at Malm Fireplaces at age 16. His father, Glen Crownover Sr., designed iconic fireplaces and established the Malm Fireplaces Dynasty in 1960. The company is still in business 65 years later. At one time, an estimated 60,000 fireplaces were on order. Many family members and friends have worked for the company over the years, including Glen Sr.'s three sons, with the twins taking over the business for their father.
Keith played many sports throughout his life, but his greatest passion was golf. His favorite memory was from a celebrity golf tournament where local golfers were paired with celebrity football players. Joe Montana happened to be in the foursome right behind Keith's. Keith was known for crushing the golf ball, and after one such long drive at the tournament, Joe walked over to Keith, praised his shot, and asked to check out the club he used. As an avid Forty-Niners fan, Keith was on cloud nine.
As much as Keith loved golf, his greatest joy was his two children and five grandchildren. They truly were the lights of his life. From teaching Chris to pitch, watching Shaylyn cheer, and attending as many sports, dance and piano recitals, and anything else the grandkids participated in, he did everything humanly possible to be there, even those times when the travel was by walker or wheelchair.
Always known as one of the sweetest men you'd ever met, he was also known for his sense of humor. If you knew Keith personally, you likely shared some laughs and always walked away with a smile.
The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Keith's Life on Saturday, November 8th, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Central Berger Center, 6633 Oakmont Drive, Santa Rosa. A buffet lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, enjoy a sporting event with your loved ones or make a donation in Keith's name to Rincon Valley Little League. https://rincon-valley-little-league.square.site.
It's surreal that the man with the biggest heart finally succumbed to cardiac arrest. He fought hard for many years to stay with us, and it was truly fate that Keith and Lori met on Valentine's Day in 1979.

Lori, Chris and family our thoughts are with you. We have know Keith since Montgomery High and still have the fire insert Keith installed in 1985-86. Never a warmer and honest person I have met. His heart may have failed him, but it was the thing that made him who he was. He will be more than just missed.

Uncle Keith, you were taken too soon. You always had love in your heart to give, always the "chill" uncle, and always had quarters or dollar bills for us at Malm. I will miss you every day.

To the Crownover Family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of Keith and what you all must be going through. There are not adequate words to describe Keith but he definitely made his mark in this world through his actions and words and the way he lived his life. He was such a special guy with a heart filled with kindness, love and the strength of a warrior and heart filled with hope . RIP Keith .
