Lee Abramson Obituary

Followed the music "home" October 10, 2010, He was 81 years old. His passion for life, love of music, and willingness to help others in times of need served him well in the final months of his battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife Terri Abramson of 35 years, with fond memories that will carry her through this time of grief. Much of Lee's joy came from his children: Debbie (Joe) Lunnon, Lee Jr. (Cindy) Abramson, Laura (Jim) Goldman, Linda Abramson, Dorothy (Bill) Brelih; and from his nine grandkids; two great grandkids; brother, Dean Abramson; and countless nieces and nephews. Lee was born in San Francisco, and grew up in Santa Rosa where he created his band at 14 years old "Lee Abramson and the Dance Band". He later went on to graduate from Cal Berkeley, majoring in business administration. He served his country with pride as a Lieutenant for the U.S. Air Force, to which he received honorable discharge in 1954. Lee was a dedicated employee for Carnation Brand for over 35 years, until he retired to enjoy his favorite past times: cooking, fishing and volunteering with the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa #410. One of his greatest accomplishments was creating the "Public Safety Awards Program" which for over 16 years has honored police and fire officials for acting beyond their call of duty. A special thank you to his family, friends, caregivers, and church for making his journey home so peaceful. At the family's request, donations to Heartland Hospice may be made in Lee's memory. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at the home of a family friend: 3595 Holly Oak Way. Santa Rosa. Ca 95405.

Psalm 90:10 states, "In themselves the days of our years are seventy years, And if because of special mightiness they are eighty years..." Although Mr Abramson lived a long life this does not relieve the pain that is felt by his loved ones. May our Heavenly Father give these ones strength and comfort through the Scriptures. Please accept my sincere condolences during this time of your loss.
