Lorena Thierbach Obituary

THIERBACH, Lorena Jane Entered into rest on August 4, 2004 in Santa Rosa at 101 years of age. Beloved wife of 27 years of the late Walter C. Thierbach. Dear sister of the late Horace Edrington and Lucille McLaughlin both of Healdsburg. Cherished first cousin of Charles Hotchkiss, Fred Jaggers, and James Hotchkiss. Also survived by step-grandchildren John (Phyllis), and Philip (Susan) Bazzano of Santa Rosa, Caroline (Michael) Figoni and Suzanne (Robert) McCarthy of San Francisco, and Jan (Tom) Grigliatti of Vancouver BC, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Walter's daughters, Georgia Bazzano and Ruth Thierbach. Born in Los Gatos August 14, 1902, Lorena moved to Healdsburg when she was five years old. She was raised on the Hotchkiss Ranch that was located on Eastside Road. After attending Healdsburg High School she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1924. She was a lifelong member of the Eta Alpha Chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity. Lorena was a Public Health Biologist for the City and County of San Francisco for many years. She and her husband Walter resided in Tiburon on Paradise Drive for most of their marriage. At her request no formal services will be held. She will be buried near her parents in the Healdsburg Oak Mound Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eggen and Lance, Santa Rosa. The family wishes to thank Chancellor Place of Windsor, Friends House of Santa Rosa and Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa for the love and care Lorena has received in the last years of her life. Donations may be made to Memorial Hospice, 821 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
