Manuel Rodrigues

Passed on this day October 16, 2025. Born and raised in San Pedro, California. Moved to Humbolt County as a young adult eventually adopting Santa Rosa and Healdsburg California his home. Manuel has many nieces, nephews, and cousins he leaves behind who will greatly miss him. He has family as far North as Alaska and as far South as Southern California but has fiends all over the world who will miss him.
He was a kind person with an adventurous spirit. As a young man he wanted to learn photography. With little to no money in his pocket he hitched hiked to New York City to learn this art form. He began to wash hair to make a living and found a life long art he worked at the remainder of his days. He opened the first high fashion salon in Santa Rosa in the early 70's named Haircutters which at the time and for many years was favored by many patrons. He went to London twice to study with Vidal Sassoon each time improving his skills. He also worked in Sweden for awhile at an upscale salon making life long friends while there.
He loved the ocean and abalone diving with friends many of whom had no diving skills which he always looked after. When he met you wherever this happened all over the world you became a new friend. In the summer days he became very tan and had the nickname Crow or Cuervo which also was his favorite beverage.
A private family interment will be held in Southern CA
