Mark Burris

1954 - 2025

Mark Burris, 71, passed away at home in Santa Rosa CA on Dec. 1, 2025.
He was born in West Point Nebraska, the son of the late Shirley & Gerald Burris.
As a young man Mark worked in Law Enforcement for both Sacramento and Yolo Counties where he was affectionately known as "Tiny"
For most of his adult life, he served as President and co-owner of Eagle Transportation and Redwood Empire Wine Storage.
Mark was an extremely gifted lyric tenor and actor. For many years he enjoyed performing with the Santa Rosa Players in productions such as The Wizard of Oz and Oliver. He had the honor of winning the prestigious San Francisco Night Club Entertainer of the year award. For many years Mark sang with the delightful Broadway themed trio "Touch of Class" with close pals Cam Parry & Ralph Hoyal.
As a world traveler, Mark sought adventures in Africa, Russia, Canada and many US states such as Alaska. As a sportsman Mark loved fishing on San Pablo and Tomales Bays, and the Sacramento and Eel Rivers. He was also an enthusiastic pheasant and duck hunter who could be found in the fields of around Gridley during bird season. Mark was an avid World War II collector and tremendous supporter of our Veterans.
Mark was a fiercely loyal friend whose generosity quietly helped hundreds of people in need. He lit up a room with his mischievous smile and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Mark is survived by his brothers Mike Burris and Kelly Burris along with his nephews Dylan, Kevin and Trevor Burris.
At Mark's request there will not be a public service.
