I met Martin when he was hired as a fellow admission counselor at College of Notre Dame in Belmont. He was an exceptional recruiter and quickly became integral to our community. He was respected for his success, intelligence, kindness, humor and his commitment to the low income students he recruited. After two years with us, he was recruited by New College to become their Director of Admissions. . While a crushing blow for
College of Notre Dame, we knew he made the best decision for his future. While a crushing blow for us, we knew he was making the right decision for his future and we fully supported him. He was an exceptional human being in so many ways.
Brenden, I met you when you were one year old and came to our home for dinner. I am grieving the loss of your father with all who knew him and loved him. He was so committed to making the world a better place.

I am so saddened to hear Martin in no longer with us. He was my oldest friend in Sonoma county. i met he and his friend Sherman in a bar in Austria in 1974. We both ended up in Israel and then again in Sebastopol. I loved greeting him as he was having coffee , sharing memories and catching up on each others lives. We had a sweet connection for 50 years. i look forward to sharing a special story at his memorial. What time will his memorial start?

Very nice guy. Always waved and said hi when I walked past. One less friendly face in the world and a model of how to treat others. Will try to emulate his kindness going forward.
