It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our first best friend, our Mom.
Mom was born in Lexington, NE in 1938. She married Dad (Roger Halverson Sr.) in 1958. Over the next three years, she gave birth to her son Curtis and then daughter Mary. Almost 19 years later in 1980, she became a mom again, giving birth to her favorite child Ryan. She always wanted three children and said her family was finally complete and that all she ever wanted was to be a mom; she was the best mom.
Mom is survived by her daughter Mary, son Ryan, grandson Ryder, brother John, and cousin Marvin. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, son Curtis, brother Wade, and parents Oscar Wade & Mary Lux.
A private celebration will be held in the future. You can honor our mom by enjoying life and creating memories with your family and friends.
"Mom, No knocka be-sigh! Thank you for being our first best friend and being the bestest ol' mom ever! Thank you for teaching us to laugh and for all of the little inside jokes we'll carry with us for the rest of our lives. Thank you for taking us to the movies and caring for us when we were sick. Thank you for all the home cooked meals and for helping to make Christmas the most magical time of the year. Thank you for reminding us why a three legged pig can't be eaten all at once and that Elvis had a brother named Enis. Thank you for all of the little things, even making grocery shopping an adventure. Halloweens were always amazing too! Thank you for always making hard times better. Thank you for giving us a life full of memories to help fill the hole your absence has left. We love you so much! And of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't say one more time, 'Buy us something, Ma!'
