Michael Sanchez Obituary

Michael Richard Sanchez
February 15, 1956 - August 20, 2024
In Loving Memory of Michael Richard Sanchez February 15, 1956 - August 20, 2024.
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Michael Richard Sanchez, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Known for his kind, loving, caring, and humorous nature, Mike left us on August 20th, 2024, at the age of 68, after a brief illness.
Born in England on February 15th, 1956, to Aurelio and Dolores Sanchez, Mike was the embodiment of warmth and joy. He spent his formative years in California, graduating from Rancho Cotate High School in 1974. He then embarked on a long and successful career with Hewlett-Packard and later Agilent Technologies, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. After over three decades of service, Mike retired, and was ready to embrace the next chapter of his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Mike's existence. He was predeceased by his father, Aurelio, and his brother, Steven. He is survived by his loving mother, Dolores Sanchez; his devoted children, Christina and Michael (Lluvia); his cherished grandson, Ricky, and step-granddaughter, Yarely. Mike's legacy of love continues through his siblings Robert Sanchez (Peggy), Richard Sanchez (Lisa), Theresa Callinan (Gary), Mark Sanchez, Linda Gleason (Phil), and Timothy Sanchez (Amy). In addition, Mike is survived by his ex-wife Christine, stepdaughter Athena (Vic),step-granddaughter Mia, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Special appreciation is given to Debbie Hastie (Chris), his former spouse, who remained a steadfast friend and provided incredible support to Mike, especially during his time of need. Her unwavering friendship is a testament to the deep bonds Mike forged with those in his life.
Mike's presence lit up every room. His quick wit and infectious humor brought smiles and laughter to all who knew him. He had a unique ability to bring people together, as seen in the family "Olympics" he organized at reunions friendly competitions designed not just for fun, but to strengthen the bonds between family members of all ages. Mike was also a patient teacher, spending countless hours playing and teaching poker to his nieces and nephews, fostering not just skills but memories that will last a lifetime.
In his retirement, Mike moved to Arizona to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He took great pleasure in traveling across the United States in his RV, savoring the freedom of the open road and the joy of new experiences. He cherished every moment spent with his grandson, Ricky, and took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather. His convertible, his RV, and the wide open road were symbols of the adventurous spirit that defined his later years.
Mike's departure leaves an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew him, but they take solace in the countless memories he left behind. He was an extremely proud father, a loving brother, and a valued friend, whose legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
Private services will be held to honor Mike's life and legacy. The family appreciates your understanding and requests that you hold your memories of Mike close to your heart during this time.

It saddens me to hear about the sudden loss of Mike. He was a great person and had an amazing sense of humor. I worked at his dental office, and we always enjoyed his dental appointment visits. Me & the dentist send our deepest condolences.
