Mildred WALLACE-SMITH Obituary

Mildred Wallace-Smith passed away on June 29, 2012, peacefully and quietly in her sleep, at the age of 97. Milly was born in Retrop, Oklahoma and grew up there with her family of 11 siblings. She married her high school sweetheart, Neil Wallace and they moved to California in 1936 to begin their life together. Neil and Milly moved to Santa Rosa in 1956 and lived in Windsor and later in Wikiup, where they retired to play golf and Bridge. Milly is preceded in death by her husband Neil and her second husband, Edward Smith, as well as her oldest daughter, Betty Clark. Mildred is survived by her loving family that includes three of her brothers and one sister; her daughter, Thelma Wallace of Vacaville, California; and her grandchildren Diane Bajada, George Ralston (June), Carole Bajada, Richard Ralston, and Cynthia Chasan (Jeffery). Mildred also leaves 11 loving grandchildren, 11 dear great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Milly was dedicated to her family, her home, and her church. She was very active in her church, the Windsor Community Methodist Church, where she volunteered faithfully to work to support and improve the way of life in the small church. She loved her garden and her home and she taught both of her daughters the art and love of gardening and homemaking. Milly played golf with friends and family until she was in her 80's and kept and cared for her beautiful garden most of her life. The family will hold graveside services at Santa Rosa Memorial Park Saturday, July 14 at 1:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are by Eggen and Lance Chapel of Santa Rosa, 545-3747
