Nancy Kray Obituary

Nancy Hansen Kray was born in Oakland, CA on May 11, 1934 as Nancy Mae Carroll, the first daughter of Thomas and Eugenia Carroll. Her lifetime partner was her husband of 25 years, Richard Kray. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Michael Hansen; sister, Joan Olcott; niece, Kathy Evans; nephew, Tom Olcott; daughters-in-law, Delinda and Heather Hansen; and her five grandchildren, Bridget, Robert, Cole, Danielle and Marc. Nancy re-married in August of 1984 to Richard Kray of Concord, CA. He was an angel in her life and a welcome addition by the boys. They moved to Lisle, IL until Dick retired in 1992 from Alcan Aluminum. They moved back to California and settled in the town of Windsor. Nancy loved to travel, go wine tasting and have friends and family over for dinner parties. She enjoyed painting and taking art classes in the town of Mendocino. She was involved in numerous social clubs and volunteer groups and devoted her time to local charities and organizations like the Assistance League of Sonoma County and the Newcomer's Club. Nancy was a loving, caring, compassionate woman who had a zest for life, family, and friends. She was always positive, happy, upbeat, and had a smile on her face. The glass was always "half full" in her life and anything was possible. She passed on July 6, 2009 at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with her sons and husband at her side. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Her spirit will always be with us. Services will be held at a later date.
