Patricia Ann (Rushworth) Sahl
April 20, 1941 - October 25, 2025
Patricia Ann Sahl (née Rushworth), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in Petaluma, California. She was born on April 20, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sahl (March 2020).
Patricia is survived by her siblings Diane Joseph (Paul), John Rushworth (Teri), and Mary Rushworth; her son Mike Sahl; her daughter Cathy Diego (Jim); her grandchildren Jessica Mattingly (Kris), Nick Diego (Clémence), Dante Diego, and Dominic Sahl; and her great-grandchildren Jameson and Riley Mattingly, and Jolyne JC LeLarge. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cherished cugini, all of whom loved her dearly.
Known affectionately to many as "Nonna," Patricia was fun, happy, talented, and one of the kindest, coolest people you could ever meet. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a joyful, adventurous spirit, running around the yard pretending to be a steer so her grandson could practice roping, or bringing her granddaughter to get a piercing while her parents were out of town.
A gifted watercolor artist, Nonna had an eye for beauty and a heart full of love. She was always up for anything her grandchildren dreamed up. One of her most cherished memories was returning to Italy with Jim and Cathy to reconnect with her cugini.
Patricia was a friend to many, a supportive and loving mother, a devoted wife and caregiver, and the heart of her family.
There aren't enough words, or enough space, to capture all the joy, laughter, and love she brought into the world.
She was truly one of a kind.
A celebration mass of Patricia's life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anselms Catholic Church (97 Shady Lane, Ross, CA) with a reception to follow at the church hall from 12:00-2:30 p.m. In honor of Nonna's bright spirit, please wear something colorful-her favorite color was red. Although we mourn her loss, we choose to celebrate the beautiful, love-filled, and joy-filled life she lived.
If you are unable to join in person, please raise a glass of Pinot Grigio in her honor and remember her favorite toast:
"Cheers to those who wish us well, all the rest can go to - ".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association, a cause close to the family's heart in honor of both Nonna and Grandpa, or Sutter Hospice.
Nonna's family would like to give the sincerest thanks to Well Care Home as well as Gabi for helping Nonna maintain her dignity and journey to the end of life surrounded by love and kindness.
