Patricia Withers passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 94.
Pat was born in Chicago, IL, on March 27, 1930. Her father was a Navy admiral in charge of ship building and repair. Due to the nature of his assignments, her family was constantly on the move, rarely staying in one place for more than a few years. She loved living in new places, and it contributed to her ability to make new friends easily.
She graduated from Stephens College in 1950. On Valentine's Day in 1953, she married John Withers, her husband of sixty-five years. He was also in the military, and they continued to move around the country until he left the service, and they located in Edina, MN. Several years later in 1961, Pat and her family relocated to Santa Rosa, and they have resided here ever since.
Pat led a very active social life and had countless friends. She was active in several volunteer organizations and was past president of the Welfare League. She enjoyed hiking, travel and bridge with her group of friends called the "Fine Nines" and making stock picks with the "Buy Lows". Pat and John were members of the Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club as well as the Wild Oak Saddle Club.
Travel was a central theme in the life of Pat and John. They traveled to well over 100 countries, each of which was documented by a colored pin placed on a map of the world hanging on their wall.
Pat could regale you with tales of the wonder of Machu Picchu, describe her favorite coffee consumed in Cambodia and expound on the glory of a full moon when viewed from a train in the mountains of Nepal.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband John. She is survived by her daughter Ginger (Greg), her son John II (Carolyn), six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dick and his wife Pat of Annapolis, MD.
We will miss her wit, laughter and lively conversations.

At her request, a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
