Patsy WRIGHT

1940 - 2017

WRIGHT, Patsy October 24, 1940 - March 25, 2017 Patsy Louise Wright, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2017 at the age of 76; five years after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Born October 24, 1940 in Edinburg, Illinois, Patsy graduated from Edinburg High School. Upon graduation from high school Patsy moved to Southern California. After a brief time there she moved to San Francisco, and then back to Southern California where she lived in Seal Beach and worked for Southern California Edison. In 1967 she married Daniel Wright. Patsy and Dan moved to Santa Rosa in 1972 where she lived until her death. Patsy worked at Santa Rosa General Hospital and Memorial Hospital so Dan could start his own business, Dimensions 4 Engineering. She later worked at Lincoln Elementary and Santa Rosa High, which her daughters attended. Patsy was devoted to her family and was an active volunteer at her daughters' schools. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, gardening in her yard, taking nature walks, reading romance novels and shopping at the mall. She was a devoted daughter who often traveled back to Illinois to visit the Zinis. She enjoyed playing slot machines and the Lotto, and always dreamed about "hitting the big one" someday. She loved celebrating holidays with her family and did her best to make sure each birthday, Christmas, Easter or Halloween was special. She had a zest for life and loved a good laugh, music and dancing. Patsy was predeceased by her sister Ginger Arnold, and her parents John and Darline Zini. Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Dan; her brother Harry (Gail) Zini of Pawnee, Illinois; daughter Merissa (Tim) Leamy of Davis, CA; daughter Sasha (Dan) Grimes of Petaluma, CA; adored grandchildren Sophia and Nicholas Leamy, and Donovan, Genevieve and Elle Grimes. She is already greatly missed. Patsy and her family want to thank the many people at Kaiser Permanente who worked so hard to care for her over the last five years. They are thankful to Sabrina Heintz for providing caring personal training which enabled Patsy to maintain her mobility. They would also like to express their gratitude to Heartland Hospice, for making Patsy's last hours as comfortable as possible. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Santa Rosa Mortuary (Eggen and Lance).
