Paul Widdess Obituary

WIDDESS, Paul M. Paul Manson Widdess, 68, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 in Santa Rosa. Paul was an accomplished musician and an avid fan of Dixieland Jazz. Following in his Father's musical footsteps, Paul started playing clarinet and saxophone in a band at the age of 14. Born in Los Angeles and a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Business Administration, Paul spent the majority of his career in Retail Management. In the late 60's Paul was instrumental in the opening of The Emporium in Santa Rosa. At the age of 30, he was the youngest Store Manager in Emporium's history. Paul and his wife Henrietta owned and operated "Henri", a retail woman's clothing store for years in San Mateo's Hillsdale Mall. Paul was involved with CCI in Santa Rosa and started The United Crusade in Santa Rosa. Paul is survived by his two sons John Widdess of Oakdale and Bill Widdess of San Francisco and his sons' mother Henrietta of Redwood City. He is also survived by two granddaughters Anna and Rian Widdess of Oakdale, a brother Stewart Widdess, Jr. of Minnesota and a close companion and friend Idelle Mitchell of Santa Rosa. A celebration of Paul's Life and his love of Dixieland Jazz will be held April 17, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Vista Del Lago Recreation Center in Santa Rosa. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Any donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, The United Crusade or CCI in his memory. Arrangements by NEPTUNE SOCIETY OF NORTHERN CA.
