Pearl Anderson Obituary

Pearl Anderson
March 1928 - August 2022
Pearl "Pearlie Mae" Anderson was a vibrant and cheerful lady, always happy to be a part of social gatherings. Born in Oakland to "Doc" and Ruth Rodgers, she was raised in Camp Meeker and spent most of her life there. Serving with the Women's Auxiliary of the Camp Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. with family and friends, she became an icon of Camp Meeker history. She married her sweetheart Jim and loved him dearly through their 52 years of marriage. They raised their three children, Roger, Cheryl (Allen), and Donna Jean (Say), in Camp Meeker. She is survived by these children, as well as four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Bowling was a huge part of Pearl's life, including coaching the Junior Bowlers with Jim, Secretary of her Friday Night Mixed Fours and Friendly Travelers leagues, and involvement in the WIBC of the Redwood Empire. Pearl was blessed to have an additional chapter in her life after Jim passed, with years of riding on the back of a motorcycle (Harleys only!) with the wind in her hair. She was a fabulous Karaoke singer and could always "ham it up" on a stage. She loved all her camping, bowling, motorcycle and other friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 8, beginning at 4:00 pm at Negri's Restaurant in Occidental. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share a story or two. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pearl's name to the Camp Meeker Volunteer Fire Department, which has protected her beloved Camp Meeker for so many years.

Dear Grandma Cookie,
We sure miss you, but forever your smile, singing and your time spent sharing with us about being positive, grateful and involved with your community and neighbors; will be with us always. Thank you for coming to my 'Summer Parties' when all the kids in the neighbor were small. Your imprint will be forever on my life and my days.

Sweet Grandma Cookie, she will be known to us. We were lucky enough to be her neighbors for over 30yrs. My children, Katrina and Daniel, loved to go us to Grandma Cookies for a visit and to have some yummy cookies, homemade bread etc. She was always so happy and welcoming. She would type us the cutest cards and send them in the mail, even though we lived next door. We could hear her sing and play for years from our home. Thank you Grandma Cookie for sharing your heart and love with so many. You always reminded us to cherish each day. Love you always, Sharon

Some of my fondness memories are when I bowled with Pearl and her family back when the Continental Lines were on Mendocino Ave back in the day. She was one of the loveliest Lady´s you could ever hope to meet. Thank you, Pearl, for your grace.
