Just heard the news of Joe's passing. Seems like only yesterday when I took my son John for his first barber shop haircut, he is now 44 years old. My husband has been coming there for many many years. Joe was a kind and gentle man. He will be dearly missed.
My deepest condolences to your family.

Just went by Joe's shop and saw the note on the door. My condolences to Joe's family. He was a sweet man, my son (who frequented his shop, monthly) and I will miss him, dearly.

I was shocked to here this belated bad news. I have always had a grand adventure when I arrived to have Joe cut my hair. We always struck it well with good conversation. I always admired his great skill as I am a professional entertainer. When I left his barbershop, I always felt like, "the few, the proud". He will always be remembered as a true gentleman of honor with me.

Ann Marie,
I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Joe's passing. He was such a kind and gentle man. I immediately thought of our times together that were too few and far between. I just returned from vacation and I'm sorry that I couldn't attend the services. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time. Stay strong.

To the family,
I am so sorry for your loss.I started taking my son to Joe 21 years ago. Joe was so kind with the kids. When I would pay he wouldn't accept a tip and he would always give my son 4 quarters.
I have a grandson with autism and haircuts are difficult for him. I took him to Joe and he was great to my grandson. My daughter would come from Cumberland for Joe to cut his hair. Joe continued his tradition of giving quarters back and would never accept a tip. He was a warm loving man,we will keep all of you in our prayers.

To the Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Joe back in the 443rd unit and I was a customer for many years until I moved from Cranston a couple of years ago. We always spoke about the guys in our unit whom he saw, his vacations and his children. In fact, his son was in my son Peter's class at Hendricken. His good nature and humor will be missed. A truely nice guy.

Dear Anne-Marie, Michael, & Laurie,

I'm honored to have known such a great man and to call Joe a friend. For the past 42 years, Joe has been the neighborhood Barber for all of Garden Hills Gang. He never let me forget the time, at age 7 when my Mom brought me to him for that summer "watermelon" crewcut, that I locked the doors on the old Chrysler and held the lock lever down while she tried to get me out of the car. (I obviously didn't want the crewcut) After she broke the key, she got really mad, and I finally opened the door knowing that the crewcut was the least of my problems on that day! Joe would occasionally say through the years, "Remember that day when your Mom...*&%#!"
For over 40 years, Joe has been a true friend who, because of his endearing personality, could hold an engaging conversation with anyone. I'm sad that I only saw him once per month, but each time, he had a smile and a story to share about food, wine, sports, or family that made me always feel better on the drive home. The Barbershop was more of a "social gathering" than a place of business. He loved his family deeply and the photo's he had on the counter proved it over and over again as the kids grew up, graduated, and recently with Michael's wedding photo proudly displayed. I feel through my long friendship with Joe, that I know each of you also. I know for sure, he loves each of you with all his heart.
Anne-Marie, I know he wanted that place in Florida because it would make you and him very happy in the warm weather.
He touched so many people and will be remembered always, forever in my heart.

You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

Sincerely,
Joe Santucci
