Robert Craig Obituary

CRAIG, ROBERT TRENTON, Born on June 17th, 1985. His sunset came far too soon on April 12th, Easter Sunday, 2009. At the age of twenty-three Robert Trenton Craig died in a tragic boating accident in Florida surrounded by the friends he loved doing what they loved to do. Trent was celebrating life at a reunion of the friends he seemed constantly to be in the midst of. He was a free spirit who after high school in Santa Rosa seemed only interested in the next great adventure. Athletically gifted, he was a hardcore boarder. From Hawaii to Florida with stops in Colorado in between, if it had wheels, wax, or a wake, Trent was there. Trent loved the outdoors and had a great appreciation for nature’s beauty. A caring and loving Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, and Nephew he was also a fierce gamer. Whether playing canasta with grandparents and his mother, bocce ball in Julliard Park, or Texas hold ‘em in Vegas, if a game broke out he’d be involved. A life long and die hard Raider fan. Despite his wanderlust, Trent’s family and friends came first. Although never very keen on advice from family suggesting he settle down for a while, he was always very charming in his refusal to do so. He was a huge and tender animal lover who took great pleasure in the pets of his own and family. In addition to a host of friends across the nation a tremendous hole has been left in the hearts of his Mother, Lisa Craig of Santa Rosa. Father Doug Craig of Costa Rica; brothers Jason Martin (Nicole) of Santa Rosa, and Cameron Craig (Natalie) of Visalia; grandparents Bob Girolo (Paula) of Santa Rosa, Donna Vine of Santa Rosa, and Lauren Slade of France; Aunts and Uncles Mark and Julie Blankenship of Santa Rosa, and Kathy Girolo of Santa Rosa, Lauren Craig of TX, Brian Craig (Paula) of Discovery Bay; adored nieces Desiree and Alyssa Martin, as well as many cousins, in-laws, and extended family members Steve and Steve Dubois jr. and Leslie Dubois who will all miss their larger than life Trent. Trent will be cremated and his ashes kept by his mother. A celebration of Trent’s life will be held next month allowing time for friends to heal from their injuries and time for the many that will need to make plans so that we can all share our memories of Trent. Trenton, “Spike”, “Buddy”, “Bunny”, “Search and Destroy”, we will all remember you and hold you forever close to our hearts. So many wonderful and beautiful places will remind us of you. Enjoy those perfect and endless waves as well as the eternal lift tickets, we love you. Friends and family are invited to a Visitation on Sunday April 19th, 2009 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa. Our hearts and prayers go out to Lisa and Jason and Doug and the rest of the family on the loss of Trenton. He was a joy to have around. I remember 4 years ago when he was visiting Cameron and Natalie he came over to swim and visit. We had some serious talks about the future and eternity. He listened and pondered what we spoke about. I pray that you all will find true peace in the midst of this untimely death. May God become more real than ever during this time and may He Bless you! With Sympathy, Teri White (Cameron's Mom)

Trent, I was shocked at the news of your passing. Its hard to understand why people are taken from us when and how they are. Its been so long since I have seen you, but I will always have memories of us as kids. I can still look back all those years ago and see us walking to Doyle Park school together like it was yesterday. We use to always tease and play pranks on one another. I still think about those days. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family as well as the other families affected by the tragic event that took you away. You will always and forever be remembed!
